Scottish super band, Travis will perform an exclusive gig at an intimate gathering of guests at a London Mayfair venue for a fundraising event for The Prince & Princess of Wales Hospice on Wednesday 4 December. Guests will have access to an exclusive performance before the rock group continue their worldwide tour later this month.
Travis will top the bill at the exclusive event in Quaglino’s in London, which will be hosted by TV presenter Carol Smillie. Guests will be able to bid on an exciting array of items including a 4ct diamond bracelet, a Rolex Cosmograph Daytona, a David Yarrow signed print and a Tag Heuer Formula 1 Chronograph watch.
Lead singer, Fran Healy, said: “We couldn’t be happier to be performing ahead of our tour for such an incredible cause. The Prince & Princess of Wales Hospice in Glasgow is in the heart of our hometown, making real differences to the lives of the people they care for. We’re only too pleased to help support them and hopefully raise a phenomenal amount for the charity.”
The event is sponsored by The Watches of Switzerland Group and The Watches of Switzerland Charity Foundation. Chief Executive Brian Duffy is a long-term supporter of the hospice, he says: “The hospice is very close to my heart. The care they provide is absolutely vital and in these financially challenging times, we must try and raise as much money as possible to allow them to continue their important care.”
The Quaglino’s event is now a firm favorite in the London social calendar, having previously welcomed to the stage Scottish legends, Lulu and Texas and soul Queen Beverly Knight.
Rhona Baillie, OBE Chief Executive of The Prince & Princess of Wales Hospice, said: “We are absolutely delighted that Travis are supporting our special London event to help celebrate compassionate care while raising much-needed funds for the hospice.
“Hospices across the UK are experiencing financial hardship with many having to close services and make redundancies. However, with the support of our incredible communities who come along to events such as this and help raise these incredibly important funds, we can keep on caring."
The Prince & Princess of Wales Hospice provides free specialist palliative and end-of-life care to 1,200 new patients and their families each year both at the hospice at Bellahouston Park in Glasgow and in patient’s own homes.
